From Amy's Kitchen to your Kitchen.:)

Chuck and I made Chicken and Dumplings a couple of weeks ago and it turned out great...We got the recipe from Country Weekly. It was recipe that Tim McGraws Grandma made..It was yummy we had it with rice..

Chicken And Dumplings:

Ingredients

.1 small Chicken

.pinch of salt

.2 cups all-purpose flour

.3 tbsp. butter or shortening

. 1/2 cup buttermilk

.1 egg

Preparation:

In of water, boil chicken, adding salt to taste. When tender chicken from the bone and return to the broth.

Pour flour into a bowl. Leaving a hole in the middle. Add 1 egg and enough buttermilk to form a doughy consistency. Sprinkle flour on the cutting board. Pinch of part of the dough and roll into a thin sheet and cut into squares.

Drop one square at a time into broth continue until all of the dough is used.

Add salt and pepper to taste and simmer until tender. Allow the dumplings to thicken the broth until it has a creamy consistency.

This was really yummy..Enjoy..:)
